With a view to creating an institutional mechanism for effective coordination and synergy with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standards Body of the country, in the development promotion and implementation of the Indian Standards (IS) to create a robust quality ecosystem in the country, as envisaged in the Indian National Strategy for Standardization, a Standardization Cell is formed with the composition and functions of the Standardization cell are shown below:

Functions :

The Cell will help the Industry/Association in -

  • Identification of the new areas and subjects for Standards Development.
  • Preparation of the Annual Programme for Standardization.
  • Identifying and nominating experts to the Technical committees and working panels of BIS.
  • Examination of the Indian Standards, will helping taking up of Review of Standards.
  • Prepairing the plan of action for capasity building on quality conrol.

  • The Cell will meet at least once a quarter.
