After detailed deliberation, the subcommittee PCD 1:6 agreed to adopt ISO because a test for cooling characteristics is required in the PCD 25 standards for quenching oils. Currently, this test is mentioned in the annexures of IS 2664 or IS 4543, but a proper test method is needed.
