1 This standard (Part ) prescribes method for the measurement of concentration of metals Aluminium (Al), Arsenic (As), Barium (Ba), Cadmium (Cd), Cobalt (Co), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum (Mo), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb), Zinc (Zn) in particulate matter in ambient air by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). It is, however, clarified, that arsenic has chemical and physical properties intermediate between a metal and a non-metal, and is often referred to as a metalloid or semi-metal.
