In response, the Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has enacted legislation to hold producers accountable for their environmental responsibilities. Paper-based materials for food and beverage delivery are becoming more popular. A committee is developing standards for paper and paperboard-based barrier-coated materials to ensure their quality and safety for human consumption. These standards will apply to various shapes, such as wraps, bags, cartons, and containers, intended for serving or delivery, not storage.
