1 | This revision has also been brought out to bring the standard in the latest style and format of the Indian Standards. Various thicknesses of anodic coatings have been specified in IS 1868 for different applications. Three grades of anodic coatings, that is, AC 2.5, AC 5 and AC 10 have been selected for anodized aluminium for automobile use. For the sake of guidance, aluminium and its alloys used in the form of sheet and strip, extrusions and castings for different applications have been suggested in Annex A. Designations for aluminium and its alloys given m Annex A have been adopted from IS 605. However, the relevant Indian Standard designations have also been included in brackets for ready reference. In addition to this, major changes compared to previous edition are as follows : a) Addition of references clause. b) Addition of grades AC 15 and AC 25 c) BIS certification marking clause |
